Open a folder to begin

Open a folder. Press Open folder, or paste a Drive link. A card, an old drive, a folder on the desk. FieldCut reads it where it sits and moves nothing until you export.

Look through it. Photos and clips at their own shape, in rows that fill the width. Drag the Size slider to see more or less at once. Click any tile to open it full screen, and use the arrows to move on.

Keep and drop. Select a tile and press P to keep it or X to drop it. U clears the mark. Show only your keeps or your drops from the Show menu at the top.

Make folders. Press N or the + in the Sort into panel. Selects, Client, Reels, whatever the job needs. A slash inside the name, like Client/Hero, makes a folder inside a folder.

Sort. Select tiles, then press the folder's number, or click the folder. Shift-click for a run of tiles, drag a box across empty ground for a block, A for everything on screen. Right-click for Add to and the rest. Click a folder with nothing selected to see only what is in it.

Export. Press Export. Copy leaves the originals where they are, Move takes them off the card once they have been copied. One sentence on the sheet says exactly what will happen before you press the button.

Reads any folder

A card, a drive, a Drive link. JPG, PNG, HEIC, RAW, WebP, MP4, MOV, MKV and more. Several folders can be open together as one job, and the last one opened is one press away next time.

One grid

Every photo and clip at its own shape, in rows that fill the width. Nothing is cropped. Twenty thousand files scroll like two hundred.

Sort folders

Name them, colour them, nest them with a slash, drag them into each other. Or point the panel at a folder you already have, or at the open folder itself, and sort straight into its real subfolders.

Pinch to zoom, arrows to move on, keep and drop and sort without closing it. Right-click for the actions.

Compare

Two to four side by side at full size. Press the number of the one to keep and the rest are dropped.

Clips play in place

Rest on a clip and it plays in its tile. Full screen has scrub, speed, mute and fullscreen with the usual keys.

Similar

Groups bursts and repeated frames so you keep the best of each. With the AI it also finds the same subject shot again from elsewhere. Runs on this Mac.

Quality

Finds blur and closed eyes and lists them for your call. Only what you tick is dropped. Nothing is deleted.

Duplicates

The same file on the card twice is found and shown. You choose which groups to merge. Nothing is deleted.

Export

Copy or move, to a disk or to Drive. Files land as they are, full size, never re-encoded, and every copy is checked before an original is touched. It runs in the background, so you can keep sorting.

Undo

⌘Z takes back the last forty changes, full screen included, and they survive a reload. ⌘⇧Z puts them back.

Picks up where you left off

Your sorting is saved as you go, against the folder's contents. Open the same card next week and it comes back.

Light and dark

Follows the Mac by default. Set it from the menu in the top right. The photo stage stays the same in both.
